Complete the magnificent new Skyline Loop trail in a series of day-hikes. Venture into the Sandwich Range Wilderness and tackle the South Slide ascent up South Tripyramid, bop along the ridge and summit Middle Tripyramid and North Tripyramid then bypass the North Slide by following the Scaur Ridge Trail down to catch the views from The Scaur. The lollipop loop will begin and end with the mellow grades of Livermore Rd. Distance: 12.0 Miles Elevation Gained: 3494 Feet 4,000'ers: Middle Tripyramid, North Tripyramid Difficulty: Very Strenuous According to the National Park Service's hiking difficulty calculator: "Only well-conditioned and well-prepared hikers should attempt very strenuous hikes. The hike will generally be long and steep, and may include rock scrambling, stream crossings, and other challenging terrain. Generally 8 miles and over." What to bring: 1.Clothing appropriate for outdoor travel (non- cotton) Synthetic or wool materials are ideal. 2. Waterproof/wind proof top 3. Insulating layer (wool or synthetic) 4. Extra socks (non- cotton) 5. Hiking boots 6. Warm hat and gloves/ mittens 7. Backpack 8. Water 16-32oz. 9. Snacks (lightweight & high energy foods) 10. Headlamp 11. Personal items (cell phone, camera, medications, etc) 12. Trekking poles (if desired) + A smile & positive attitude!
