These outings will be adventurous affairs in which the group will be meeting the natural conditions of the day. Many trail surfaces may be encountered; packed snow/ice possibly with rocks and roots exposed or covered by fresh snow, frozen ruts created by previous users, slush, or even a foot of glittering fresh powder snow. Turnaround times will be established before heading uphill, and will be adhered too regardless of summit proximity.
