About the event

Embrace the friluftsliv ("open air life" rough translation of the Norwegian) this winter on a series of winter trail hikes with Tyler Durham. In addition to perennial Waterville Valley favorites, hikers will sample some other great options in surrounding towns. Dickey Mountain: Enjoy fantastic views from the local classic on this out and back hike to the open granite summit of Dickey Mountain. Many trail surfaces may be encountered: packed snow/ice possibly with rocks and roots exposed or fresh snow on top with occasional obstacles. Trails may be rough, steep, and involve un-bridged stream crossings. Distance: 3.6 miles Elevation Gain: 1670' National Park Service Hike Difficulty Rating: Moderately Strenuous (109.7) From the National Park Service- "Moderately Strenuous Numerical Rating: 100 –150 Moderately Strenuous hikes will generally be challenging for an unconditioned person. The terrain will involve a steady and often steep incline. Generally 5 to 8 miles." 10am -3pm Member/ $5 Guest/$20 Transportation from WVRD provided. All hikes require solid physical fitness. All hikes will be led by a Wilderness First Responder, or someone certified in Wilderness First Aid. All Hikes Meet at WVRD 15 min before start time unless otherwise noted. Space is limited. PLEASE NOTE: There is a 2 participant minimum for courses. Refunds will be issued in the event of a cancellation.
