Embrace the friluftsliv ("open air life" rough translation of the Norwegian) this winter on a series of winter trail hikes with Tyler Durham. In addition to perennial Waterville Valley favorites, hikers will sample some other great options in surrounding towns. Mount Tecumseh 4003' Enjoy a winter hike to the summit of one of New Hampshire's famed four thousand footers. Take in the valley views from the sheltered summit and start crossing peaks off your winter 4K list. Many trail surfaces may be encountered: packed snow/ice possibly with rocks and roots exposed or fresh snow on top with occasional obstacles. Trails may be rough, steep, and involve un-bridged stream crossings. Distance: 5.2 miles Elevation Gain: 2280' National Park Service Hike Difficulty Rating: Strenuous (154.0) From the National Park Service- "Strenuous Numerical Rating: 150-200 Strenuous hikes will challenge most hikers. The hike will generally be longer and steeper, but may be deemed "Strenuous" because of the elevation gain. Generally 7 to 10 miles." 9am -4pm Member/ $5 Guest/$20 Transportation from WVRD provided. All hikes require solid physical fitness. All hikes will be led by a Wilderness First Responder, or someone certified in Wilderness First Aid. All Hikes Meet at WVRD 15 min before start time unless otherwise noted. Space is limited. PLEASE NOTE: There is a 2 participant minimum for courses. Refunds will be issued in the event of a cancellation.
